Since 1903, Oklahoma City has participated in the professional baseball league with Mickey Mantle being arguably the most famous professional baseball player of all time. We can continue fostering the longtime love between baseball and Oklahoma now by teaching our kids to cheer on our Oklahoma City Comets! And when you get ready to plan a game day, be sure to scroll through this guide of tips and curated info. Go OKC, go Comets!
Schedule
The Oklahoma City Comets are a Pacific Coast League AAA baseball team affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers. OKC Comet baseball season runs from late March to mid-September. An average of 150 games are played per season, with 75 played at home. Home games are played at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in downtown OKC.
Games typically start in the evenings at 7:05 pm and Sunday afternoon games begin at 2:05 pm. On the schedule, you will see an occasional Wednesday game. These are designed for field trips and start around noon. See full schedule here.
Tickets
- Ticket prices vary, but can be as low as $9 for a single game. The average price ranges from $15-35 per game.
- There is a $55 “all you can eat” ticket option that comes with a Comets hat and unlimited food.
- Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a Braum’s voucher and hat. See “Braum’s Friends and Family” option when purchasing.
- College students can enjoy the games on Thursdays for $10.
- If your child is enrolled in the Comet Kids Club, they’ll receive a free ticket for themselves, plus two for specific games.
Know Before You Go
- Tickets are fully digital, and screenshots are not accepted. Trust me, I tried! I recommend purchasing ahead of time and have the appropriate app or website pulled up for quick access at the gate.
- Gates typically open 35 minutes before the first pitch.
- Parking can be challenging, especially on busy weekends. Plan extra time to find a spot, and if mobility is a concern, allow time for walkingor have part of your party plan to drop you off near the entrance. I have personally found parking at or just beyond Bricktown’s Bass Pro Shops.
- The stadium has a clear bag policy. One (12” by 6” by 12”) clear bag or a 1 gallon Ziplock bag are allowed inside. *Exceptions include non-clear bags size 7” by 9” or smaller, diaper bags, and medically necessary bags.
- Guest Booth Service is located behind Section 113. Here they have “my first game stickers,” the lost and found, and can provide guest assistance with general event questions. *During the game, you can text HELP to 405-218-2121 and speak quickly and directly to the staff.
Top Tips for Game Day with Kids
- Kids Club allows children to run the bases after games on Sunday!

- Players often autograph after the games through Kids Club as well.
- Depending on the time of day, it can be hot with direct sunlight. During the evening games I’ve attended, sitting directly behind home plate or down the third base line are more shaded options until the sun sets.
- Ballpark food can get pricey. If carrying a diaper bag, I would add some snacks and water. But, keep in mind $2 Tuesdays are good for discounts on Coors, Miller, and Pepsi products. I also saw a four hot dog, four fountain drink option for $17.76 that I felt was affordable as well.
- During the month of July, fireworks are every Friday night! If your child has sound sensitivity, be aware of this and plan accordingly.
- The bathrooms were perfectly clean all evening, and we didn’t have a wait any of the 87 times we went.
- There are birthday party/group options for the baseball loving kids! Discounted rates on tickets, Comets swag, and options for your child’s name to appear on the outfield sign. They can even throw out the first pitch or score several other upgrades.
Have fun!
