Best Parks with Playgrounds for Kids in the OKC Metro

Knowing the best parks in your area is almost as important as knowing your children’s shoe size or food preferences: absolutely vital. Parks help burn off your kids’ pent-up energy, meet new potential mom friends, or just get you out of the house before you lose your mind. No matter where you are around the metro, use this guide to help you find the best parks near you.

Oklahoma City Playgrounds

Martin Nature Park

📍5000 W. Memorial Rd  :: With around 3 miles of trails through this nature park, there is a hands-on recreation facility and a playground for kids to play. check out the full resource on Martin Nature Park here!

Myriad Botanical Gardens

📍301 W. Reno Ave :: Playground and Sprayground – The kids’ area is FANTASTIC and fenced in, which is a huge plus. We love that it’s centrally located and, of course, the gardens are fun to walk around when you’re done playing!

OKC Zoo

📍2000 Remington Place :: Playground and Sprayground – The zoo recently redid the playground, and it is AWESOME.

Rt. 66 Park

📍9901 NW 23rd St :: Sitting along OKC’s Lake Overholser, this 148-acre park features three ponds and walking trails. Plus, it has the largest playground in the city, along with the Cyrus Avery Observation Tower.

Scissortail Park

📍300 SW 7th St :: Playground and Sprayground – This park is seriously one of OKC’s best installations. The playground by itself is amazing and kids LOVE it. Add in the splash pad, and it’s truly the perfect parent paradise of entertainment.

Stars and Stripes Park

📍3701 S Lake Hefner Dr ::  This park has multiple climbing structures that kids love! It’s located by the lake too, so there’s lots to do and explore when you’re done playing.

Dewey Park

📍3500 N Lindsay Ave :: A new park with an amazing playground to challenge and tire out even the most energized kids.

Lion’s Children’s Playground

📍9050 Lake Hefner Pkwy :: Located along Lake Hefner, you’ll have beautiful views and a breeze while the kids get to enjoy the open space and playground. This park is also a gem with plenty of shade on the playground!

Memorial Park

📍1150 NW 36th St :: I love a trusted park that also doubles as a splash pad so you get to enjoy a two-in-one on hot Oklahoma days!

Edmond Playgrounds

Fink Park Second Street & Garland Godfrey Drive

📍800 E 2nd St :: This is a hidden gem of Edmond. The playground is fun, but really, the exploration capabilities of the creek are perfect for families!

Chitwood Park

📍712 W 1st St :: Also known as the “rocketship” park. If you know, you know. This one has a great play structure shaped like a rocket, and kids love this one (even big kids)!

Bickham-Rudkin Park

📍379 E 33rd St :: This one has structures both for toddlers and big kids, so it’s a perk if you have kids of various ages. A really great place to play!

Hafer Park

📍1034 S. Bryant St :: This is an OKC favorite, especially since they redid the playgrounds! Playgrounds for all ages, plenty of shade, and a pond!

Mitch Park

📍1501 W. Covell Rd :: There is a newer playground installment that is fun for kids and is really great for bigger kids.

Moore Playgrounds

Little River Park

📍709 SW 10th St :: Playground and Sprayground – AMAZING playground and splash pad. This one is a definite family favorite amongst our team. The splash pad feels like a mini waterpark and it’s free!

Norman Playgrounds

Andrews Park

📍201 W Daws St :: Playground and Sprayground – the new inclusive playground for children of all abilities in Norman, OK. (Ruby Grant Park is another inclusive park in Norman).

Reaves Park 

📍2501 Jenkins Ave :: A park with a small playground for kiddos.

Ruby Grant Park

📍3110 W Franklin Rd :: All abilities playground for kids with trails and picnic pavilions.

Piedmont Community Park & Splash Pad

📍130 Gooder Simpson Blvd :: Playground and Sprayground – Another amazing park! This one has all the coolest swings and a huge wooden climbing structure with a separate toddler area that is also really big. This one is totally worth the drive.

Bethany Playgrounds

Bethany All Abilities Playground

📍Cecil Mendenall Library Park :: This park is truly amazing, especially if you have kiddos needing accommodations. It really is for kids of all abilities!

Yukon Playgrounds

Freedom Trail Park

📍2101 S. Holly Ave :: Recently renovated and an incredible park for the entire family! Plenty of shade, basketball courts, a splash pad, and all the fun playground equipment you could dream of.

Guthrie Playgrounds

Mineral Wells Park

📍819 S Division St :: With playgrounds, fishing ponds, splash pads, basketball courts, and more, there is something for everyone at this hidden gem in Guthrie.

Shawnee Playgrounds

Kids Space Park

📍423 N Center Ave :: Another new park in the area with endless possibilities. Beyond the usual different playgrounds, there’s even a ninja course and timed meter dash! You can also rent equipment to play horseshoes, checkers, cornhole, and more.

Warr Acres Playgrounds

Baker-Kiwanis Park

📍4700 Block N Hammond Ave :: This park brings nostalgia to the parents and fun to the kids with a line of seesaws, a merry-go-round, and even the old school metal slide. But there’s also newer playground equipment to enjoy as well!
