Piedmont, Oklahoma is a great little town! It’s a little piece of country right next to the city – perfect for day trips. Be sure to check these places, activities, and where to eat!
1. Chester’s Party Barn & Farm
Chester’s has it all, from a petting zoo to pony rides! They are open throughout the year, Thursday thru Sunday. Be sure to grab your boots though, it is a working farm after all!
2. The Old Store
Be sure to stop in The Old Store, an eclectic ‘junk’ destination with small town charm, located in the Historic District of Piedmont. With over 50 unique vendors, you will find everything you need AND some things you didn’t even know you needed! Plus it’s a cool old building with plenty of photo opportunities!
3. Piedmont Community Park
This park alone is worth the drive to Piedmont! Plenty of fun stuff for everyone to enjoy. During the summer, bring swimsuits for your kiddos – there’s even a splash pad!
4. Sharp’s BBQ
If you haven’t tried this out yet, you need to do so immediately! Just make sure to go there when it’s open – their hours are a bit different from other restaurants. I promise, it’s worth the wait.
5. The Trendy Sister
Don’t forget to check this place out too, while you’re shopping. It’s right across the street from The Old Store; you can’t miss it!
6. Piedmont Parades
Piedmont puts on some great parades. Especially for Independence Day and Founder’s Day. I think my favorite part is always the firetrucks, or maybe the band, or all the good food?
It’s hard to pick my favorite part of Piedmont – you’ll have to decide for yourself!
While you’re here, be sure to go slower than the speed limit; you’re not in the city anymore. Don’t be surprised to find yourself behind a tractor or see someone’s cattle got out. Enjoy being able to slow down! Don’t let the potholes scare you off either, just stick to the main roads and you’ll be alright. Piedmont is a little diamond in the rough, but a great place to live or spend the day!
