Now that schools across the metro area have officially let out for the summer, many families are feeling the impact of losing access to daily school breakfast and lunch programs.
For countless children and caregivers, these meals help provide consistent nutrition and ease some of the financial pressure families face each week. The good news is that many organizations, schools, churches, and community programs throughout the Oklahoma City metro offer free or low-cost summer meal programs for children and teens.

We wanted to share some resources so families know they are not alone and that support is available throughout the summer months.

To find food banks and additional food assistance resources in your area, including programs that can help provide groceries for your household, check out the following resources that can support families throughout the summer and beyond:
- https://www.fns.usda.gov/sfsp/sitefinder
If you or someone you know could benefit from these resources this summer, please know there is absolutely no shame in reaching out for support. Every family deserves access to nourishing meals, and our community is stronger when we care for one another.
We hope these resources help lighten the load a little and remind families that they are not alone.
