Did you know there are 10 skateparks in and around OKC? Whether you are just learning or already know how to land some tricks, there are plenty of places to skate across the metro.

Skateparks aren’t just for kids. As a mom who just turned 40, I absolutely love to roller skate, and I like to explore skate parks with my kids. I have no shame rolling out in my pink and leopard print Moxis while my 4-year-old is scooting along with his Sonic kick scooter with flashing lights. My 8-year-old likes to use his bike, and my 12-year-old daughter has some pretty candy yellow and teal roller skates.
I have to add that the last time I skated, I was about 13. So when I recently bought my skates, I thought it would just all come back to me. Luckily, it did.
Stars and Stripes Skatepark
3701 S Lake Hefner Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73116
Our favorite is the Stars and Stripes Skatepark near Lake Hefner. It is a street-style park with features such as rails, ledges, and stairs. It does have a good size bowl too. Once we are done at the skatepark, we like to hop over the playground.
Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park
1700 S Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73109
One of the most well-known spots is the Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park in Oklahoma City. This is the biggest skatepark in the area and a favorite among experienced skaters. It has bowls, ramps, rails, and plenty of space to practice. It can get pretty busy over the weekends. If you have littles, try to go during the week.
Route 66 Skate Park
9901 NW 23rd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73141
On the west side of town, you’ll find Route 66 Skate Park. This park is a little smaller and can be a great choice for beginners.

South Lakes Skate Park
4302 SW 119th, Oklahoma City, OK 73173
On the south side, there is South Lakes Skate Park with ramps, rails, and open space for free skating. It is a great place for kids to spend an afternoon skating or scooting with friends.
H.C. Schilling Skatepark
601 SE 25th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73129
Another beginner-friendly option is H.C. Schilling Skatepark. This smaller park is less crowded and can be a good place for younger skaters to practice.
Blake Baldwin Skate Park
443–547 James Garner Ave, Norman, OK 73069
If you’re willing to drive a little outside of OKC, there are several more skateparks worth visiting. Blake Baldwin Skate Park is one of the nicest parks in the metro area and is well worth the trip to Norman. Many local skaters consider it one of the best outdoor parks around.
Buck Thomas Skate Park
1903 NE 12th St, Moore, OK, 73160
In Moore, Buck Thomas Skate Park offers a smaller skate area that works well for younger kids and beginners.
Mathis Skate Park
1305 W Covell Rd, Edmond, OK 73003
Edmond’s Mitch Park Skate Park is another great option if you’re looking for a quick skate session in that area of town.
If you are looking to explore parks outside the city, you can also check out:
- Mustang Skate Park
- El Reno Skate Park
My kids and I really enjoyed OKC Skateboarding Lessons in Edmond. They have an indoor skatepark that can be a lifesaver during Oklahoma’s hot summer. They provide skateboarding lessons and have a summer camp in June and July, and they are absolutely wonderful working with the kids. If your child is interested in learning to skateboard or improving their skills, having access to an indoor facility and instructors can make a huge difference.

So grab your helmet, safety gear, water bottle, sunscreen, and camera, and head out to explore one of these local skateparks. Whether you are cheering from the sidelines or lacing up your own skates, there is a skatepark in OKC for everyone.
