Spring into Family Fun at Myriad Gardens’ Tulip Festival

Spring is in the air with the annual Tulip Festival returning to Myriad Botanical Gardens. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, stretching the event to two weekends instead of just one! It’s the perfect outing for your family to celebrate spring and enjoy the stunning display of over 60,000 blooms.

Enjoy a stroll and stop to smell the tulips!

Tulips are planted in the fall to give us those beautiful blooms come springtime. At Myriad, you’ll be able to explore the gardens surrounded by a colorful array of red, orange, pink, and yellow tulips. It’s a picture-perfect display, so don’t forget to charge your phone for those Instagram posts! The Tulip Festival kicks off Saturday, March 28, and concludes Sunday, April 5! Enjoy the festivities all day, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Don’t forget to check out the Tulip Mania exhibit in the lobby of the Crystal Bridge for even more tulips from March 5-April 5!

In addition to the gorgeous tulips, the whole family can enjoy these activities all weekend long:

  • Capybara Caricatures
  • Clarissa Sharp Poetry
  • Groovy Judys
  • Kaleidoscope Arts
  • Lance’s Bear Factory
  • LOL Cartoons
  • Through Movement Photography
  • Wine & Palette

Bring your appetite for tasty eats and treats, enjoy live entertainment, and shop local!

Choose from vendors like Angry Scotsman, Momocha, and The Big Friendly, and satisfy your sweet tooth with treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Sunny Sips Specialty Lemonade. Plus, shop local vendors offering everything from jewelry and art to bath products and one-of-a-kind gifts. Check this list to see who else plans to be there!

Mom Tips: What to Pack

  1. As you know Oklahoma weather can be brutal in the spring. I like to keep a small fan in my purse to give my kid some air when I start seeing those cheeks turn red.
  2. It’s always a good idea to keep sunscreen on hand or swipe it on in the car.
  3. Keeping on the theme of sun protection, sunglasses are a must for the sunny seasons.
  4. Ok, if you’re like me, springtime is when I’ve got to remember to take an antihistamine. Allergies! Ugh. Pack extra in case your kid or partner forgets to take theirs.
  5. Of course there’ll be vendors to buy from, but we never go anywhere without a full water bottle!
  6. Myriad Gardens has great spots to set up a picnic blanket, especially the Devon Lawn on the north side.

Here’s to celebrating the joy of spring at this year’s Tulip Festival! Get your kids excited with these resources to learn more about tulips.
