Oklahoma’s tax-free weekend is coming up to help you save some money on back-to-school duds for your kiddos!

Clothes and shoes priced under $100 will be tax free! So depending on where you live, you’ll be saving around $8 or $9 on every $100 you spend. Couple that with the sales many stores offer during this weekend, and you’ve got some serious back-to-school savings!

The goal is to provide some savings for consumers and also a revenue boost for retailers. Win-win!

📆 When can you shop tax-free?

This weekend takes place the first Friday-Sunday in August. So this year, it falls August 7-9, 2026.

🙋‍♀️ Who can shop?

Anyone who’s buying qualifying purchases can get the discount.

👚 What is tax exempt?

Sales of any article of clothing or footwear designed to be worn on or about the human body and the sales price of the article is less than one hundred dollars ($100) are exempt.

This does not apply to the sale of any accessories, special clothing, or footwear primarily designed for athletic activity or protective use or to the rental of clothing or footwear.
