KidSpace Park | Shawnee, OK
Did you hear? Only 30 minutes from Oklahoma City, the city of Shawnee has officially opened their KidSpace Park and it’s ready for play! If you’ve been following along for the last few years, you know Shawnee has been hard at work renovating this incredible 7.6 acre park.
Surrounded by miles of trails, this park has two play grounds with slides and climbing structures – and a section for kids ages 2-5 and another for ages 5-12 – a ninja course, a basketball court, two pickle ball courts, and plenty of shaded areas for parents! And we particularly love the outdoor yard games like a giant game of checkers.

Only 30 minutes from OKC, Shawnee is a great day trip to take the kids. Here are some other fun things to do after playing at the park.
- Bring your swimsuits and head to the Shawnee Splash Water Park. This park has a shallow play area for littles, spray ground, diving boards, climbing wall, slides, basketball goal, floatables, bench with sunshades and much more!
- Grab an iced coffee or lunch in the cute historic Downtown Shawnee, Oklahoma.
- Explore the Twin Lakes Reservoir,where you can rent kayaks or swim off the shore.
- Eats: Try Hamburger King for a classic burger on Main Street or Sunny Side Up if you are in the mood for breakfast foods!
