10 Indoor Things to Do with Toddlers and Preschoolers in OKC

Oklahoma City offers a ton of great indoor play gyms, activities, and places to hang out when the weather isn’t cooperating.

And there are also some really great places that offer indoor activities and things to do specifically for toddlers and children under 5. From interactive museums to indoor playgrounds, there are numerous options to keep the little ones entertained. Here are some of the best indoor activities and places for toddlers and preschoolers in the OKC metro area.

Museums

Oklahoma City Museum of Art: OCMOA has a new family space, located between Admissions and the theater lobby. One side of the space will focus on art-related activities, and the other will function as a free-play space for crawling and newly walking visitors and respite for their grownups.

Science Museum of Oklahoma: Located in the heart of OKC, the Science Museum offers hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, toddler-friendly science experiments, and age-appropriate science demonstrations. Don’t miss Storytime Science at 10:30am on Tuesdays and Saturdays and Early Explorers Come-and-Go from 10-11 a.m. every Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Railway Museum provides a unique indoor experience for toddlers fascinated by trains. The museum allows toddlers to explore vintage trains and even take a short train ride (first and third Saturday of the month from April through August). Special events often cater to young children, making it a delightful destination for families seeking a blend of education and entertainment. And don’t miss their spectacular family events!

Trampoline Park Toddler Times

Toddler Time at Get Air Trampoline ParkGet Air offers a special time when the facility is open to the littler jumpers (under 46″). Little Air jumpers and their parents are the only ones allowed during this time. Parents cannot share a trampoline with a child, but can jump near them. Great idea for a playdate with other toddlers too!

Jumper Time at Urban Air (Moore) | Jumperoo is a special time where the park is open only for children 5 & under! The park is open just for the little ones and their parents to jump, bounce and crawl around safely!

Metropolitan Library System Story Times

Many local libraries across the metro area host story times and fun events for toddlers, providing an opportunity for free indoor play. This is a fantastic option for parents looking to engage their young children in educational and entertaining activities.

Toddler Reading Wednesday at Myriad Gardens

We love this weekly FREE event! Specifically for ages 2-5, recurring each Wednesday at 10 am, join Myriad Gardens in the Visitor Center Lobby for toddler storytime every Wednesday. Books are nature-themed and selected based on the season. Storytime begins with an interactive song and some weeks will include a small craft after the story.

Indoor Playgrounds

Breakaway Indoor Playground | Situated in Edmond, Breakaway Indoor Playground is a perfect spot for toddlers to run and play in a safe environment. The facility offers a dedicated area for toddlers, allowing them to have a great time while staying out of the cold (or hot!) weather. Breakaway is fun for all ages, but the activities and interactions are most appropriate for children ages 1 year to 12 years of age.

The Play Pit (Norman) | Norman’s only indoor playground, The Play Pit, provides a dedicated area for toddlers to play and explore. It also offers a comfortable lounge space for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones.

We Rock the Spectrum | We Rock the Spectrum is an indoor playground and kids’ gym that offers a sensory-friendly environment for kids of all ages and abilities. It’s a great place for young children to engage in active play while staying warm indoors.
