This 2 day a week Mother’s Day Out program operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am – 2:30pm from September to May following the Edmond Public Schools holiday calendar.
Children have indoor and outdoor free play time, daily all-school chapel time, a daily Bible lesson and age appropriate preschool lessons that include hands on learning, beginning concepts, literature, and music. Classes are offered for children 6 months old through pre-kindergarten. Each class has 2 teachers. The teachers in our pre-k classes are certified teachers. Children will become makers for the day by flexing their creative muscles with crafts, pottery, weaving, beading, silversmithing techniques and leatherwork.

Perked-Up Playdate on the Friess Family Playground
Plan on meeting up with friends to play at the all-new Friess Family playground in Liichokoshkomo’ for the first time. Complimentary EÔTÉ Coffee for parents and hot cocoa for children will be provided.

Rhythm and Rhyme Day
Children can touch and try musical instruments, listen to music, watch folkloric and native dance demonstrations. The Blackbird Dance Troupe, Cowboy Jim Garling, Eterna Primavera Guatemalan dance group and Estrella Chapina marimba band will all be performing live.

Picnic and Planting Day
Pack a picnic and experience the first official day of spring in Liichokoshkomo,’ with seasonally-themed activities that celebrate the outdoor space’s natural elements and intentional green space. Plant wildflowers seeds along Liichokoshkomo’s tree line with provided seed packets and check out how they’re growing at a future visit.

World Storytelling Day
Families can explore the various types of storytelling and the passing of oral traditions from one generation to the next. Listen to cowboy poetry, learn from a Kiowa storyteller, tell your story at the open mic session and create your own travel journal and six-word story.
About Liichokoshkomo’
Liichokoshkomo’ (pronounced Lee-cho-kosh-ko-MO) is a Chickasaw phrase for “Let’s play,” a trailblazing play space dedicated to providing learning through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) as children explore and try new things. The outdoor experience was thoughtfully designed to engage both the hands and minds of visitors for hours of family entertainment. The space also proudly showcases the many cultural influences that came together to build the American West.
The $15 million project includes an intertribal village that represents seven tribes (Caddo, Chickasaw, Hopi, Kiowa, Navajo, Pawnee and Ancient Puebloan), rail car and train depot, trading post, pioneer wagon, sod house, playground, waterfall and much more. The Child Development Center at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center is a part of a program that trains personnel for careers in the field of child care while providing a loving environment for your child. They are open from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a limitied number of children between the ages of 2 and 6. The Center is a three star facility and NACCP accredited. Children’s Day Out is designed for children twelve months through four years old (or 5 if not in Kindergarten) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Children age 12 months-3 years may attend 1, 2, or all 3 days (do not have to be toilet trained). Children ages 3 (by Sept. 1) – 5 years, must be enrolled for 3 days a week (must be toilet trained). They use a Bible based Early Childhood Curriculum called WEE (Weekday Early Education) Learn. Military Mommies is a division of Barber DME Medical Supply, a veteran-owned and operated company, that exclusively works with Tricare members to assist them in obtaining their pregnancy and postpartum related medical supplies. We want to support our military families by providing personal assistance from a locally trained expert, free breast pump consultations and providing referrals to local resources and support. Local partners have demo pumps on hand so patients can see the pump, turn it on, listen to it, and see exactly how they work.
We currently offer the following medical supply items:
Breast pumps– We carry Medela, Ameda, Ardo, Unimom, Lansinoh, Motif, and Spectra brands. Most of the breast pumps we stock come with a tote bag. Some of them also include a cooler bag, freezer pack, and storage bottles. Tricare members can have our prescription form signed by their provider once they are at least 27 weeks along in their pregnancy. Tricare covers most breast pumps at 100% for ALL beneficiaries. We also provide milk storage bags monthly or as needed with no additional prescription required.
Pregnancy Support Band– We carry the Embracing Belly Boostier. Tricare members can have our prescription form signed by their provider at any time during their pregnancy if they are experiencing lower back pain. Your local representative trained to take measurements for proper sizing or give measurement guidance.
Postpartum Care System– We carry the Mama Strut and Motif Postpartum Systems. Tricare members can have our prescription form signed by their provider at any time during their pregnancy. However, we do not recommend measuring and placing the order until 32-34 weeks along in your pregnancy to assure proper sizing.
Compression Stockings- We carry Medi brand compression stockings. Tricare members can have our prescription form signed by their provider at any time during their pregnancy. Your local representative is trained to take measurements for proper sizing or give measurement guidance.
Positioning pillow– We carry pregnancy pillows too! Be sure that you mark the box for a “positioning pillow” and the provided diagnosis code on the prescription form.
