Patty is a Texas gal who relocated to Oklahoma in 2005 with her husband and two kids. She became an instant mom when she met her husband in Austin, TX. Her kids were 4 and 6 at the time, they are now 18 and 20, and she wouldn’t have it any other way! She loves her blended & diverse family dynamic and their sweet French Brittany bird dog named Harper. By day she’s the Event Concierge and Social Media Strategist for a technology firm, and a Style Coach by night.
She enjoys fashion, a well made latte, a good sermon, living by the golden rule of “no talking before 10am”, fitness, the fall season, tattoos, taking Harley rides with her husband, and saying “YES” to any adventures. A fun Q&A with Patty:
1. What is the most random thing in your purse right now?
I am going to be real honest! I picked up my purse and started rummaging through it and in the zipper pocket I had an x-acto knife in there. I seriously thought, “Why?” and then I remembered that my son needed one for some random project he wanted to do. (It’s okay, he’s 18.)
2. Where would you vacation if it could be anywhere in the world?
Hands down it would be Eze, Italy. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be there in 2002 and we fell in love with the small town of Eze. It’s by the water, has the friendliest people, and amazing coffee.
3. Since you are a mom to now teens, what advice would you give to moms of little ones?
Keep it simple and don’t forget about the great qualities you possess before you became a mom or a wife. Your kids love you for YOU, not what you can do for them! Let your kids see your fun personality, and let them experience why you are so great. Also, expose them to diversity and culture while they are young, it makes for a healthy and open mind. The characteristics you want most for your kids to live out are what you need to put into action in your daily life in order for them to follow your example. Let them see the fruit you produce. (Love, Joy, Peace, Perseverance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control)
4. What is your favorite store in OKC?
I am a food and fashion junkie, so I have many local places that I love to support. I truly enjoy going into Shop Good in OKC and Prairie Gothic in Guthrie. My current favorite food places are Urban Roots in OKC and Union Tacos in Guthrie. I am always looking to support local and love visiting new places.
