I start every New Year with great intentions – really, I do. I’m coming off a Christmas sugar cookie-high and I’ve realized the error of my ways. At least for the month of January, when everyone else is on the healthy train, too. Then January comes to an end, and shockingly enough, I still have a job, my kids still need to be shuttled everywhere, and I have NOT discovered untapped reserves of free time to start packing 7 salads every weekend.
So as the sun was setting on January with my enthusiasm for shedding the Christmas treats waning, I learned about Naked Nutrition. Their website has a quick quiz to help you find the products you want by selecting your age, nutrition goals, and any allergies (peanut allergy here!).
Choosing nutrition goals was particularly helpful because I’m not trying to win a weight-lifting competition here – I’m just trying to lose a few pounds and increase my energy level to a point where I can referee my kids’ fights without hiding in my closet. However, Naked Nutrition DOES have snacks and supplements for the weight-lifting mama, too – they offer performance products, endurance products, and more. (If you ARE trying to win a weight-lifting competition, my hat is off to you, mama. I’d come cheer you on any day. From the bleachers. Maybe with a Naked Nutrition cookie.)
But I digress. Once you have your list of recommended products that meet your needs, you can select the ones you want! I started with the Naked bars and Naked cookies, because I know a significant part of my limited energy is due to having lukewarm, thrice-microwaved coffee for “breakfast” and failing to plan for lunch. Hellllllooooo Chick-Fil-A French fries in between meetings and errands. Chick-Fil-A is just so dang efficient.

And you know what? The protein bars and cookies actually taste good. I opted for chocolate chip cookies and chocolate bars, and I actually want to eat them rather than leave them crumbling around in the abyss of my purse. I throw one in for the day, and eat it when I get hungry or my energy dips. Naked protein bars come in chocolate fudge and peanut butter flavors, and cookies come in chocolate chip, sugar cookie, and oatmeal raisin, so you have options if you’re not a chocolate-lover!
Now I’m not claiming any overnight miracles or anything, but I can confidently tell you that I’ve noticed an increase in energy over the past couple of weeks – enough to interest me in trying additional products. Fortunately, the Naked site has a whole plethora of recipes to get started. I might actually dust off that Ninja Bullet that’s been sitting in my pantry since Christmas 2020.
Here’s what makes me feel even better: the ingredient list is short and only contains words I already know! There are no additives, no artificial colors or sweeteners, and no corn syrup. Also, only 1 gram of sugar. Hence the “Naked Nutrition” – only the bare minimum ingredients to meet your nutritional needs! Though you might feel more confident naked, too, who knows?!
