A Truckin’ Good Time {Playdate Recap}

After a week of rain, we certainly were ready to get out to play.  Saturday morning dawned a little on the chilly side {in July of all months!}, but the good news is that the rain was out of our area so we were able to have a dry morning!  Upon arriving at the park, we were excited to see you all as you came with your families for a morning out.

Katiebug’s Shaved Ice was set up and ready to go when we started at 10:30.  Moms, kids, dads and babies arrived at their leisure to enjoy the fabulous play area at Wiley Post Park.  The playground itself was large enough for the kids to get on all at once, if they had wanted to!  Soon everyone decided it was time for a snowcone so Katiebug’s got right to work with fulfilling everyone’s order.

Promptly at 11am, Engine No. 7 rolled into the park with not one, but TWO firetrucks for the kids to see and enjoy.  We gathered around to hear a fire safety talk and the kids ate up every word.  The firefighters were very good with all the kids and answered their questions patiently.  Not only did they allow the kids to climb in the truck, but they hooked up a hose and let the kids take turns shooting water out of the best and most powerful hose around.

After seeing water,  it reminded the kids that the sprayground was up in running order so several went to cool off before going on home.

We love having families come out and are so glad you chose to spend your Saturday morning with us!  If you have any ideas on future playdates, send us an email at [email protected] and let us know!
